The RX3's powerful four-stage system offers excellent dust collection on hard and carpet floors. Side brushes that can be swung out with dual suction channels, and a user-friendly interface clean corners. The 8.5 cm height means it can get under low furniture, while front cameras and infrared sensors assist it navigate around obstacles and thresholds easily.
In our test of how well it cleaned baking soda near baseboards and in corners The Scout RX3 was impressive. Its suction was less powerful than other robots but it was still very quiet and moved quickly. It did not mop and its clean pad was a challenge to attach. It also couldn't handle dirt that was dried on.

The app is on the basic side and lacks features such as multiple cleaning modes and automated scheduling. It does work with Alexa however, its voice controls aren't very intuitive or responsive. It's also a bit sporadic when it comes back to the charging station after an exercise. Other robots can follow a wall or trace the previous route however the RX3 bumbles around until it finally gives up.
We also had issues with the smart features of the device, namely its mapping feature and digital stay-out zones. While it did a decent job of avoiding our shoes and furniture legs however, it was easily caught by cables and socks, and it was not able to manage the tassels that adorn rugs. That's the reason we didn't choose to include it on our Best Buy list. The Scout RX3 offers a good price and impressive performance. It's worth a look as an alternative to the traditional uprights.
